Andrea Merritt is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Millican Alliance and the Farm Manager of the Farm at Millican Reserve. She studied Ethno-Botany in her home state of Michigan and moved to Texas, by way of Washington DC, where her work in outdoor education and sustainable agriculture began. Her non-profit history includes working for the Audubon Naturalist Society, running a Farm-to-Table Education and Community Outreach Specialist for the Capital Area Food Bank and bringing nature and farming education programs into schools and community programs. She has a 20-plus year history of farming and gardening that extends from small rural yard gardens, urban lot renewal farms, school yard gardens and large scale production farming. She has a passion for connecting the community with a local, healthy, affordable food source and has started the Farm at Millican Reserve as a way to connect a local community project to a healthy food source.
