Brazos County Demonstration Idea Gardens (DIG)

Visit Brazos County Master Gardeners’ demonstration garden and see plants that grow and thrive in Brazos County. Observe, listen and learn about Earth-Kind® landscape practices that are in tune with nature; see our award-winning butterfly garden featuring a spinning butterfly identification wheel; enjoy a walk through the roses, herbs and vegetables; see how compost happens; feast your eyes on Texas Superstar® plants that grow in spite of all Texas’ weather throws at them; inspect the amazing rainwater harvesting tanks; or relax in the shade garden. Stroll through the neighboring Brazos County Arboretum and stand in the shade of trees that are just right for growing in this part of Texas.

The DIG is made possible by Master Gardener volunteers and community supporters who use the best of organic and traditional gardening principles to conserve water, reduce the use of fertilizer and pesticides, decrease landscape wastes entering landfills and conserve energy through landscaping.

Boxed lunches will be provided.
