Nestled on 100 acres in Bryan, Messina Hof Winery has been producing award-winning wines for 40 years. Owners Paul and Merrill Bonarrigo planted their first vineyard in 1977 and named it Messina Hof, after their family origins of Messina, Sicily and Hof, Germany. In 1981, Messina Hof’s award-winning legacy unexpectedly began with a medal in the Texas State Fair for a Black Spanish-Cabernet blend. To the Bonarrigos, this was the first of many victories that reinforced their mantra of “anything is possible.” Today, 40 years later, two generations of Bonarrigos work side-by-side at the winery. Messina Hof has expanded to produce 130,000 gallons per year and continues to remain at the forefront of the Texas wine industry.
